It is staffed by experienced EMT, Paramedic, Physician instructors, and research professionals. RTQI is involved on a daily basis with development and instruction of a variety of Community Emergency Medical Services’ training courses including but not limited to First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, CPR, Semi-Automatic External Defibrillation, In-Services, First Responder, and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) Training. These courses are offered to area businesses and to the public at large, as well as to BEMS staff. In collaboration with Boston EMS Special Operations Division, RTQI is actively involved in the development and instruction of "specialty" courses, including Weapons of Mass Destruction, Hazardous Materials Training. Boston EMS Training Academy (the "Academy") is the heart and soul of RTQI at Boston EMS. The Academy prepares aspiring EMTs and Paramedics for emergency medical service with Boston EMS through a rigorous didactic and field internship training curriculum. The Academy also provides our members with training for Refresher Training Courses and Monthly Continuing Medical Education that meets or exceeds the recertification requirements of the State Office of Emergency Medical Services, Metropolitan Boston Emergency Medical Services Council, and the Federal Department of Transportation guidelines for Basic and Advanced EMT training. Whether you want to enroll in one of our regularly scheduled training courses here at the Academy, arrange for us to teach a course at your location, or consult with us about developing a course that meets your specific training needs, the Research, Training and Quality Improvement Team at Boston EMS will help you to achieve your goals.
